South Africa has elections this coming Wednesday on the 29th of May and with that, some companies ill be giving out free items, sales and more to everyone who can show proof that they have voted. Yes, although it is a great way to encourage more people to go out and vote, it is no secret that this is also a marketing strategy. Either way, I am here for it. If I do come across other freebies, I will be adding them to the list. Lets go!
Krispy Kreme
Good thing is, election calories do not count because krispy kreme is giving out FREE original glazed doughnuts to everyone who votes on Wednesday. If you are at a mall, Spur & Krispy Kreme are usually neighbors in the food court. (free breakfast essentially)
Spur – Free coffee
Spur is saying Democracy deserves a caffeine kick with a free coffee! I did see a post on tiktok where people where asking for a meal with 1994 prices from. Can you imagine how amazing that would be! However, I think that would not be possible as things are quite expensive. However, they have been gracious enough to offer free coffee
Hudsons – Free Beer
Well, if you are beer drinker, the hudsons will be offering a FREE Draught for every vote. They have various locations. In Gauteng, Parkhusrt & Hazelwood Pta. For those in Capetown- all major hubs. You can check out if there are any close locations HERE
Wimpy – Free Coffee or Hot Chocolate
Finally, something for us who are not coffee lovers. Make sure you head to a Wimpy near you after you’ve made your X. You’ll get a FREE Regular Famous Wimpy Coffee when you show them your thumb mark on Election Day. This year, they are not just giving you a cup of coffee – they have more options. Sip a FREE Regular Famous Coffee or regular Hot Chocolate on Voting Day.
Nandos – half-off meals
At the point of publication of this article, Nandos has not yet announced if they will be spoiling us this year. However, in the last elections; Nandos had a 50% of on their quarter chicken and chips. It might be worth your while to keep an eye on their social media platforms to see if they have any freebies for us.
Oh My Cake – Free Truffles
The oh my cake store which is located at The Cedar Square Shopping Centre, Fourways will be offering free truffles to everyone who has voted. This is such a treat to everyone with a sweet tooth. A quick search on google showed me that truffles are quite expensive.
Del forno – Free Coffee
The popular pizza & pasta grill place will be offering Free coffee with breakfast. I do see this as not so free though. This is because one has to purchase breakfast to get the free coffee. I could be wrong but this is how I understood the “free coffee” with breakfast
Lush
I have been hearing rumors that Lush will be giving out free bath bombs. If you are already at the mall… go and check that out
